Additional safety features have been built into the pump which is used to remove condensate formed in venting and air ducts in the plenum spaces of offices, manufacturing facilities, schools, hospitals and other commercial buildings.

It has successfully passed United Laboratories’ 2043 Fire Test for Heat and Visible Smoke Release for Discrete Products Installed in Air-Handling Spaces.

The materials used to construct the pump are fire-resistant, with low-smoke-producing characteristics, as outlined in the National Electric Code, NFPA 70; the International Mechanical Code, NFPA 5000; and the Standard for the Installation of Air Conditioning and Ventilating Systems, NFPA 90A.

Hartell says the latest versions of the PlenumPlus feature enhanced pumping capacity and three new levels of motor bearing protection from steam and water splash to ensure maximum motor life.

They also have a larger reservoir and new serviceable check valves with standard provisions for low level inlets which Hartell says offer a wider range of installation options and are easier to maintain.

The pump was unveiled at the AHR show in Chicago, United States.
