The new material, WR600, offers almost universal chemical compatibility and extended dry run capabilities, Greene, Tweed says, thus helping reduce pump damage during start-up and upset conditions that causes costly downtime.
Greene, Tweed’s WR wear resistant thermoplastic composites offer non-galling, non-seizing properties, allowing close bearing and wear ring clearances to increase efficiency, reduce vibration and enhance reliability in pumps. The materials have reportedly thermal shock and impact resistance than ceramic materials. The thermal expansion coefficients are suitably matched for stationary wear ring applications.
