Greg Guard has been appointed president of Sulzer’s JWC Environmental business.
Guard, who has served as JWC’s senior vice president of sales since 2016, will lead the company as it expands into new international markets through the synergies with the Sulzer sales channels. He will report to Clive Patten, head of Business Unit Water within the Sulzer Pumps and Equipment division.
“Over the last six years JWC has experienced unprecedented growth within its core municipal wastewater business, while successfully expanding into adjacent industrial markets.” said Guard. “I look forward to unlocking the future growth opportunities for JWC by leveraging the global strength of Sulzer while driving both JWC’s technology leadership and operational efficiencies that will translate to incredible value for our customers.”
Guard joined Santa Ana, California-headquartered JWC in 2012 to head up the newly created industrial business group, taking on responsibility for municipal sales in North and South America in 2013. In 2016 he was promoted to senior vice president of sales and assumed responsibility for JWC’s global sales. Prior to working with JWC, Guard held leadership positions in sales and marketing with Waste Management, WasteQuip and ThermoFluids.
Guard succeeds Ken Biele who has led the company to record growth over the last five years and has decided to take up a new challenge outside of JWC and Sulzer.
Sulzer acquired JWC Environmental earlier this year.
