PG Flow Solutions to supply pump systems for Johan Sverdrup phase 2

A joint venture between Aker Solutions and Kvaerner has contracted Norway’s PG Flow Solutions to provide MEG (mono ethylene glycol) and chemical injection pump packages for the Johan Sverdrup phase 2 field development.

PG Flow Solutions will supply six pump skids, including pump skids for scale inhibitor injection, drag reducer injection, emulsion breaker and MEG injection. The company will also provide a control valve skid which combines the MEG injections pumps from phase 1 and 2. PG Flow Solutions will also conduct modifications and testing on the MEG injection pump system that the company delivered to phase 1 of the field development.

In November 2015, Equinor (then Statoil) awarded PG Flow Solutions contracts to deliver chemical injection and MEG injection packages to phase 1 of the Johan Sverdrup field development.

“Our design is based upon our delivery to phase 1 for similar applications. Layout, documentation, testing and technical requirements will be similar and give as much synergies as possible to facilitate reduction in costs. Furthermore, the majority of our project team that worked on phase 1 are now dedicated for this delivery to phase 2,” said Mark Tuinman, sales manager Energy at PG Flow Solutions.

All skids and pumps will be supplied to the Johan Sverdrup riser platform, which the Aker Solutions – Kvaerner joint venture is responsible for modifying and upgrading in phase 2 of the field development.

PG Flow Solutions will engineer and manage the project from its manufacturing site in Sande, Vestfold, Norway, with the majority of the deliveries to be made in the third quarter for 2019.
