SPX Flow to transfer production from Germany and Denmark to Poland

The company says that it will shift production next year from its plants in Unna, Germany and Kolding, Denmark to this new Polish operation.

SPX Flow plans to close the Unna and Kolding manufacturing facilities and discussions with the relevant works councils are underway. The company will retain its customer service, sales, engineering and aftermarket personnel in Unna and Kolding.

The new facility in Bydgoszcz will be located near SPX Flow’s European Distribution Centre and existing manufacturing plant.

“Given the current challenging demand environment across our end markets and low expectations for growth in 2016, we are aggressively moving forward on plans to optimise our global footprint, reduce manufacturing overhead and improve productivity,” explained Chris Kearney, chairman, president and CEO of SPX Flow. “We are investing in capacity expansions in Poland, Korea and the Middle East that we believe will improve our competitive position and enable us to better serve our customers.”
