TurboTides has announced that its 2020 Annual Release with newly upgraded turbomachinery design and analysis features and enhancements is now available.

The company’s design software solution aims to help standardise the design process for different kinds of turbomachinery. Developed in response to input from TurboTide’s software users, the new version is a comprehensive integrated software system for the optimisation of centrifugal and axial compressors, turbines, pumps and fans.

It provides engineers with key capabilities, including stage and components-level data reduction, powerful volute modelling, multi-segment CAD import, secondary flow path modelling and flank milling features.

The design addresses two primary issues in a typical turbomachinery design optimisation process, which include the ability to complete designs on a single platform and the ability to bring in and build on existing data.

Some of the benefits of the new features and upgrades in the TurboTides 2020 Annual Release include the use of CFD or test data to calibrate 1D models, sophisticated volute editing capabilities and the ability to use past successful designs and use them as the basis for the next design evolution.
