The members of the VDMA Pumps + Systems Association elected Krämer to the post at the recent general meeting. They also appointed Dr Stephan Bross, chief technical officer of KSB SE & Co KGaA, as deputy chairman. The board of VDMA Pumps + Systems comprises 15 people from the pump industry.
Krämer, who has served as chairman of the Pumps Economic Committee, sees the focus of the next few years on the further internationalisation of the association, the opportunities of digitalisation for the industry and the challenges of climate protection. He sees concrete opportunities for the industry in particular in the "Manufacturing-X" initiative, which is to enable the establishment of a secure and independent online data room for product and production data of the German and European industry. Krämer is also striving to advance the work of the digitalisation working group under the leadership of VDMA Pumps + Systems in Europump, the European industry association.
VDMA Pumps + Systems represents the interests of more than 110 manufacturers from this sector. The association is part of the VDMA network with regional associations and central departments.
