Delegates at the 2nd International Conference on Desalination Using Membrane Technology, organized by Elsevier, will disseminate and discuss cutting edge research. The conference scope will include theoretical and applied research, technological and industrial development.
Topics will cover reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, ultrafiltration, microfiltration, pre-treatment and post-treatment processes, novel desalination technologies, membrane systems, brine/concentrate disposal and waste management, energy and sustainability, economics and case studies.
Millions of deaths are being caused every year in poorer countries due to a lack of clean drinking water. Meanwhile, in more affluent areas, demand for water is increasing. In both cases there is an urgent need for more potable water and the development of new means to produce it.
Membrane desalination is the most promising of the new approaches but the technology raises energy efficiency as well as environmental and sustainability issues which will be covered in the conference.
Conference participants will include leading academic researchers, scientists and engineers from membrane, desalination and associated industries as well as representatives of government organizations, international agencies and aid bodies.
