The investment centres on the installation of new machines, to increase production and reduce lead times of couplings manufactured at the site. Two of the machines are now fully operational, with a further two to follow later in 2016.
Manufacturing engineer Tim Phillips, commented, “With the DMG Mori-Seiki NCX2500 and NTX2000 replacing legacy equipment, it will allow us to produce components that are fully machined and de-burred with no additional operations required. This is a vast improvement on the previous set up and will not only streamline the production process, but also ensure that the parts are also manufactured more accurately and to a higher quality.”
