Alrosa, the Russian diamond mining company, has ordered six piston diaphragm pumps (Type HM) from Germany’s Abel for filter press feeding.

The six HM pumps are a follow-up order for Abel. The first HM pump was delivered to Alrosa, which is active in the exploration, mining, processing and distribution of rough diamonds, in February 2020. It was a replacement for a centrifugal pump that was used for filter press feeding. The pump was commissioned in August 2020 and now Alrosa has decided to feed all of the plant’s filter presses with Abel HM pumps.

SibComplectService, Abel’s official distributor in Russia, was part of this project.

Abel’s HM pumps are available as single- or double-acting versions. In addition to filter press feeding, the hydraulic diaphragm pumps are also used for sludge transport, spray dryer feeding, rotary kiln feeding, autoclave feeding, and sealing/rinsing water supply.
