The pumps, which will be used to transport tailings, will work alongside 11 Weir Minerals pumps already in use at the mine.
The order includes two different sized heavy duty, high-capacity slurry pumps: the Warman UY-GHPP 3-metre-diameter 28/24 and the Warman HGY-AHP 2.84-metre-diameter 20/18.
Rajendra Pokharna, general manager (purchase) at ArcelorMittal, said: “We are constantly looking to increase energy efficiency wherever possible, and we’re confident these pumps are the best choice for the application to achieve this.”
