Flooding in the Russian Far East has significantly increased the demand for drain pumps, according to officials of the Government of the Amur Oblast.
Only in Khabarovsk, a city that is now actively fighting against the too high level of water in the Amur River, last month was purchased about 150 high-power pumps for public use and more than 500 pumps of low-power pumps for individuals. However, the report doesn’t mention pumps of what companies are mostly common using here.
According to the rough estimates as a result of flooding the demand for the drainage pumps in the Far East of Russia in summer increased by about 20 times, compare with the average figures for the last years. In additional many regions in the central part of Russia are buying pumps, and send them to the East in the framework of humanitarian assistance to the region.
The Flooding in the Amur Oblast is ongoing already for over a month. About three weeks ago it reached the largest cities including Khabarovsk and Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The level of water is continued to rise so the authorities consider the full evacuation of the Khabarovsk city.
