Before the Dragflow equipment was delivered, dredging was done mechanically with a long boom excavator on a barge. As this was too slow, the Iranian company decided to switch to hydraulic dredging by connecting a Dragflow HY85/160HC equipped with DTM85 cutterhead to the CAT345 boom.

The Dragflow equipment has a daily production of about 280m3 of dry material (10–11 hours/day) discharged at 1 km distance from the barge.

After four months of use, the Dragflow pump has dredged 25 000m3 of dry sand.
