Rock Hill, South Carolina-based Ebara Fluid Handling is the US sales and service subsidiary of Japan’s Ebara Corp.

Thompson succeeds Martin Perlmutter who has served as Ebara FHD's president for more than 16 years.

As part of the transition, Perlmutter will continue to support and be involved with FHD and Ebara in an advisory role until 31 March 2015.

Thompson has been with Ebara International Corp for 17 years holding progressive positions in marketing, operations and management. He has successfully led a number of large-scale projects including a major manufacturing and test facility expansion, the launch of a western region distribution centre and an overhaul of FHD's customer service centre.

“Rick Thompson has taken responsibility for many aspects of our business already with excellent results and consistent style and competence,” said Perlmutter. “Under his leadership, our company will continue to grow and improve our position in the market.”

“I am thrilled to continue with Ebara in this new capacity,” said Thompson. “I look forward to working with FHD's dedicated employees to build on the accomplishments and solid foundations of the current programs Marty started and implementing new strategies to maintain our growth in the pump industry.”
