The Rovatti MNE series is being used extensively in fish farming in Scandinavian countries.

Rovatti’s close-coupled electric pumps, the MNE series, are being employed for a number of different tasks. The pumps are used are used to feed the tanks that contain the fish. The function of the plant is also to keep the water temperature constant so heat exchangers have also been installed to convey hot water coming from the subsoil in order to mix it with cold water.

The MNE pumps are also used to supply water oxygenation systems, as both the liquid temperature and the level of oxygen affect the hunger and therefore the growth of the fish. In the final phase, the salmon are moved to tanks containing sea water, pumped by wells near the coast and where Rovatti borehole Extreme pumps are installed (MNE pumps are also used to pump sea water).

A large number of MNE pumps, with different hydraulic dimensions and motor powers, have been supplied. They are horizontal electric pumps coupled to IEC standard electric motors by rigid coupling and pump body in compliance with EN733 standards. All are equipped with mechanical seals and a microcasted stainless steel impeller, which allows more efficient and reliable pumps in an aggressive fluid like sea water.
