Cartridge seal from Scenic Precise Element restrains VOC emissions

The LD-389 cartridge seal from Scenic is suitable for ANSI pumps and applications to most chemical processes.
The LD-389 cartridge seal from Scenic is suitable for ANSI pumps and applications to most chemical processes.

The Scenic LD-389 is manufactured for multi-purpose applications such as concentrated acid and alkaline, corrosive, toxic and volatile producing fluids applicable to Plan 52/53/54 with universal reservoir and piping connections.

Features of the Scenic LD-389 cartridge seal include a stationary seal head assembly which sustains the seals performance, even at high velocity; dual balance face ensures primary sealing point to be closed in the event of reverse pressure; the seal operates either un-pressurised or pressurised applications; non-wetted components are kept from process contamination; components are congregated as a sub-assembly; compact design reduces the seals inner length; and the seal can tolerate ±0.5 mm radial run-out.

The outboard seal is mounted with a bi-directional pumping ring to boost buffer or barrier circulation. An engineered diversion block instated under the gland directs the flow of the circulating fluid. The gland has two common outlet connections in which either one must be plugged depending on shaft rotation. Most volatile processes are combustible and may ignite flame when two metal parts collide due to seal failure. Therefore, a fabricated protective device is introduced in the preserved space of the gland and drive collar as a precautionary measure.
