Silvernail will become chairman of Idex on 1 January 2012, following the previously-announced resignation of current non-executive chairman, Larry Kingsley on 31 December 2011. Former Idex CEO Kingsley left the company earlier this year to become CEO of filter manufacturer Pall Corp.
"Andy Silvernail has demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities since joining Idex, including as chief executive officer since August," said Mike Tokarz, Idex Corp independent lead director. "I am confident Andy will fulfill the responsibilities of chairman of the board with the same enthusiasm, professionalism and ethics that he has demonstrated in his other roles at Idex."
