WPIL acquires Gruppo Aturia

Gruppo Aturia has two main divisions: Aturia (industrial pumps) and Rutschi (nuclear and special pumps).

Milan-based Aturia manufactures industrial and fire fighting pumps at facilities in Gessate, Turin and Rovigo, Italy. Exports across Europe, the Middle East and Africa account for more than 70% of Aturia’s business. Aturia acquired Rotos and Marelli in 1990, Audoli & Bertola in 2003 and Aris Chiappa in 2009.

Rutschi, the inventor of the Perfecta canned motor pump, has operations in Brugg, Switzerland and Mulhouse, France. The company has more than 100 nuclear installations worldwide and is now targeting the chemical and API 685 markets, with a major focus on pumps for nuclear submarines.

Gruppo Aturia has a consolidated turnover of €45 million with 250 employees. 2015 revenues are expected to be €50 million.

WPIL (formerly Worthington Pump India Ltd) is a multinational pump group headquartered in Kolkata, India and listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange. The group produces pumps for power/municipal and industrial applications and has a strong presence throughout the Asia Pacific region and Africa and facilities in India, South Africa, Australia and UK. The Indian pump company has a consolidated turnover of US$120 million and employs approximately 900 people worldwide.
