The Weir Minerals’ sand wash plant is a Linatex lined plant, designed for high efficiency in sand and aggregate applications and features a range of Weir Minerals’ equipment.

The plant has fewer moving parts than conventional sand screw plants and an optimised process that produces a drier, higher-quality product with less fines.  It has already been installed at a site in Tamil Nadu, India, where it has reduced total cost of ownership by 51%, while offering a 23% reduction in fines.

The compact solution features Weir Minerals’ equipment including Warman WGR pumps, Cavexhydrocyclones, Enduron dewatering screens, Linatex hoses and Isogate knife gate valves.

The Warman WGR is a popular choice in the sand extraction industry, combining hydraulic design with an adjustable impeller, long bearing life and a simplified wet end. Linatex premium rubber is used for wear zones throughout the plant and Cavex hydrocyclones provide classification efficiency due to their 360° laminar spiral. The Enduron dewatering screens separate product with a high degree of efficiency, while the Isogate knife gate valves contribute to the plant’s simple maintenance.
