Headquartered in Cologne, Germany, Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum had revenues of E358 million in 2014 and employs about 1600 people.
“Leybold will strengthen our technology platform for superior vacuum solutions,” said Nico Delvaux, president of Atlas Copco’s Compressor Technique business area. “We welcome a very knowledgeable workforce with a long history.”
The Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum business will become part of Atlas Copco’s Vacuum Solutions division within the Compressor Technique business area.
The Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum acquisition follows Atlas Copco’s 2014 purchase of Edwards Group Ltd.
This latest acquisition is expected to be completed in the first half of 2016.
