Scotland is being featured heavily in the news this year, through it hosting of the Commonwealth Games and the Ryder Cup, its all important Referendum on Independence and now of course, the Europump annual meeting.
Steve Schofield, director and chief executive of the BPMA, is delighted that it will be hosting the 2014 annual meeting for Europump at the Fairmont Hotel & Resort in St Andrews, Scotland. The three-day meeting brings together pump industry ‘heads’ from around Europe and the USA for a mixture of business, technical, marketing and CEO meetings, mixed with a range of networking and social events.
In 2012 a small team from the BPMA and its events organiser, Touchwave Media, put together a specification for this event. They then visited many hotels and regions around the UK that potentially fitted the requirements of this important meeting.
However, although the shortlisted venues all offered excellent facilities, it wasn’t until they visited Fairmont St Andrews, a premier destination in Scotland offering five star rooms in luxury and elegant surroundings, that the search was over.
Sitting on the summit of a spectacular geological formation, the hotel with its two championship golf courses enjoys breath taking panoramic views of the Tay Estuary. This, coupled with its comprehensive range of meeting rooms, superb accommodation and excellent banqueting credentials, all helped to seal the deal!
