WEG’s new 11 895 m2 site in Lakeside, Redditch, includes a 10 595 m2 warehouse. As a result, WEG can now stock products that would previously have been shipped from Brazil, reducing delivery time by up to 8-10 weeks. The new facilities also have a refurbishment workshop, training rooms and conference facilities.
“Like many of our customers, we give high priority to efficiency,” said Richard Crook, operations manager at WEG. “With our new facility we can provide better and faster service from order receipt to delivery and assist our customers more quickly with custom modifications or technical problems.”
“This investment also shows our commitment to growth in the UK and Redditch,” added Crook. “We value the skilled work force we have here in Worcestershire, so staying in the area was a natural decision for us.”
WEG UK first opened an office in Redditch in 1997 and now employs 54 people.
