Schneider’s Alitvar Plus drive system

Energy management specialist Schneider Electric has launched Altivar™ Plus engineered drive system. These enclosed drives feature the Altivar 61 and Altivar 71 adjustable frequency drives from 125 to 2,500 hp that will provide adjustable speed solutions for commercial, industrial and municipal applications.

Schneider claims that the new drive system enables energy savings of up to 50% when installed on pumping, ventilation, and compression machines. Described as compact, with an optimized footprint and flexible modular design, the drives intend to maximize space utilization. The drives also include NEMA Type 12 enclosures for a high degree of protection.

Also launched is the latest in the line of Magelis™ graphic panels. The new Magelis GTO terminals come with additional, newly optimized features use in industrial environments. These include a state-of-the-art graphic display. Six sizes of screen display, each offer a 65 K color TFT screen. LED backlight allows dimming and efficient energy saving. The 7 in widescreen model offers 40% more available display area compared to typical 7.5” HMI screens.

The new range also features rugged stainless steel (IP66K) models designed for harsh environments, such as pharmaceutical and food and beverage. These panels are resistant to high temperatures (up to 55°C), corrosion, high-pressure cleaning, chemicals, and grease.
