The company received the award in Copenhagen from His Royal Highness, Crown Prince Frederik, who handed out awards to designers and companies who had created value adding Danish design solutions. The awards spanned 13 categories including business, society, individual and special awards.
Grundfos received the award for the ALPHA3 in the category 'Save Money'. The combination of a pump, a reader and an app makes it easier and more effective to adjust heating systems. The jury described the ALPHA3 as "an impressive tool".
The judges said the reason for choosing the ALPHA3 was that it is an example of user friendly innovation, which takes technology one step further than other solutions in the energy area, giving lower energy consumption, a lower utility bill and a better indoor climate.
