Armstrong pumps, for example, are already compliant with motor efficiency standards due to be introduced in 2017, explained Andrew Harrop, building performance technical manager.

He also provided an insight into the company’s current R&D projects in areas such as the Ecodesign Directive and the reduction of waste to landfill.

Mr Harrop was speaking at the company’s Past Present Future event along with senior managers including chairman Charles Armstrong.

Lee Davies, regional sales manager, also highlighted key technical developments such as the firm’s Design Envelope philosophy which boosts energy efficiency and savings across the firm’s pump range.

Investment in the UK factory includes the latest handheld computers for stock control, new overhead cranes and two automated rigs.
