Freudenberg provides seals for Siberian pipeline

The 5000 km ESPO pipeline is being built in the East of Russia by Russian state company TransNeft. When it is completed in 2016, the ESPO pipeline will supply oil from Siberia to China, Japan and Korea. The ESPO pipeline will have 43 pumping stations, each with four pumps.

Seven stations have already been installed on ESPO-I, with a further five pumping stations now being built as part of an expansion of ESPO-I. EagleBurgmann, a Freudenberg Group company, was recently awarded a contract for three further pumping stations on a section of ESPO-I.

“We have identified oil & gas as a high priority strategic segment which means we will continue to invest and build Freudenberg’s businesses in this area,” said Dr Mohsen Sohi, speaker of the Freudenberg management board.
