Wärtsilä Hamworthy wins Nigerian offshore waste treatment plant contract

The ST50C treatment plant has been designed to operate within harsh offshore conditions in both a hot and humid salty environment. Incorporating pumps, blowers and instrumentation, the stainless steel unit will be designed, constructed and tested at Wärtsilä Hamworthy’s factory in Poole.

The Eiffage Consortium is constructing the platform from standard building blocks to be deployed in Oil Mining Lease 102, 65km off the Nigerian coast, in water depths of 40 m. The platform will accommodate up to 140 people, generating around 45 m3/day tonnes of wastewater per day.
