Multiphase Solutions Inc developed the Transient Engineering Simulator (TES) system, a stand-alone subsea system simulator, and interfaced its physics into the Perdido Operator Training Simulator, which simulates the complete project.
Perdido’s subsea system features an innovative artificial lift system that utilises subsea separation caissons with electric submersible pumps.
“TES is being utilised by Shell engineers to address the unique operational challenges posed by this innovative new subsea system design, as well as to provide operator training,” said Michael Mai, president of Multiphase Solutions Inc.
Shell Offshore Inc operates Perdido on behalf of its joint venture partners Chevron USA Inc and BP Exploration and Production Inc.
