Hayward Tyler sponsors Antarctic challenge

The Coldest Journey” expedition, which is being led by Sir Ranulph Fiennes, is hoping to raise US$10 million for Seeing is Believing, a charitable initiative to tackle avoidable blindness around the world. The expedition will also provide crucial scientific data and form the basis of an education programme.

A six person team will set sail from London on 6 December 2012 and should arrive at the Ross Ice Shelf in January 2013. They will then cross the continent by land, reaching McMurdo Sound in September 2013.

Ewan Lloyd Baker, CEO of Hayward Tyler, said: “As an organization that develops mission critical equipment to work in the world’s most extreme environments, we salute the latest endeavour of Sir Ranulph Fiennes, the funds it will raise and the scientific data it will gather. We wish the expedition a safe and successful return.”
