The UDLL home incorporates universal design, energy-efficient green-building methods, advanced automation technology, a healthy-home construction approach and feng shui design principles. When construction is completed in October 2011, UDLL will be apply for certification under the US Green Building Council LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) for Homes program and to the National Association of Home Builders under its National Green Building Program, as well as for ENERGY STAR program certification.
