ITT wins US$74mn pumping contract for Indian irrigation project

The two pumping stations will have the capacity to pump 196 million litres daily.

ITT's Flygt vertical column discharge pump sets are at the heart of the systems, and ITT says that they will be the largest pumps of their kind to be built or operated in India. The US$74 million contract, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2012, also covers complete pump house equipment including electrical, mechanical and instrumentation.

“This is a moment of pride for all of us at ITT India, as this order has set a new benchmark for large vertical turbine pumps in India,” said Sam Yamdagni, president and managing director of ITT India.

ITT will execute this project in a consortium with Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd.
