PG Flow Solutions to supply pumps for Norwegian wellboats

Norwegian shipbuilder Aas Mekaniske Verksted has contracted PG Flow Solutions to provide pump systems for three wellboats that it is building for Sølvtrans.

PG Flow Solutions will deliver eight of its large seawater circulation pumps, which ensure continuous seawater circulation in the boat’s well, to each of the three wellboats. The company will also supply all engine room pumps that are required for the main engine and support engines, as well as generic pump requirements for operating the wellboat.

The pump systems will be assembled at PG Flow Solutions’ main manufacturing facility in Sande, Norway, and delivered to Aas Mekaniske Verksted’s yard in Vestnes.

“We have a long-standing relationship with Aas Mekaniske Verksted, having supplied engine room and seawater circulation pumps to a number of the wellboats the yard has built. However, to secure deliveries for three wellboats in one go is very rare, but three times more enjoyable!”, said Øyvind Berg, vice president of sales and marketing at PG Flow Solutions.

The three sister wellboats are of Aas Mekaniske Verksted’s own design. Each vessel has a load capacity of 3000 m3 across two wells. The three newbuilds will be delivered to Sølvtrans in 2022.
