South West Water has chosen the EZstrip pump for its wastewater treatment plants.

The EZstrip from NOV Mono has been specifically designed to provide a quick and easy way to disassemble, de-rag and maintain a PC pump in-situ. The suction chamber has a two piece design which can be dismantled and rebuilt with a spanner and an Allen key.

The EZstrip pump can be installed into new plants or retrofitted into existing Mono Compact C installations. No electrical disconnection is required and suction and discharge pipes remain untouched. The model range has a capacity of up to 165 m3/h and 12 bar pressure, and is available in either cast iron or stainless steel. A choice of rotor and stator materials are available, including WRAS compliant elastomers and a pre-assembled drive train, with two year warranty.

The South West Water approval team said: “After an extensive trial we approved the use of the Mono EZstrip pump. Due to its simple construction and innovative PC pump design, we expect to see a significant reduction in downtime for rotor/stator replacement, which in turn, will save on both process time and labour costs. As well as dramatically reducing asset downtime and maintenance costs at SWW, the EZstrip pump will eliminate the difficulty, time and cost involved to de-rag a pump. Mono has provided and demonstrated an innovative solution which is backed by the integrity of the Mono brand.”
