Alfa Laval provides pumping systems for Scottish offshore wind farm

Alfa Laval has secured an order from Saipem to supply Framo pumping systems for the foundations of Scotland’s largest offshore wind farm project.

The Framo pumping systems will be used in a suction bucket technology in the installation of Seagreen, Scotland’s largest offshore wind park. The technology, which has been used to secure offshore oil platforms since the 1990s, will anchor the wind turbine platforms to the seabed. Seagreen will include 114 turbines producing 1075 MW to supply 1.3 million households with low-carbon energy.

This is Framo’s second order for pumping systems in this application, as the company applies its experience from the offshore industry to renewable energy applications.
