Atlas Copco completes Wangen acquisition

Atlas Copco has finalised its acquisition of the German industrial pump manufacturer Pumpenfabrik Wangen GmbH from private equity firm Silverfleet Capital.

Headquartered in Wangen in the Allgäu region of Germany, Pumpenfabrik Wangen manufactures progressive cavity pumps used mainly in the biogas and wastewater sectors. The company also makes twin-screw pumps for food and beverage and cosmetics applications.

With manufacturing facilities in Germany and a global sales and service footprint, Pumpenfabrik Wangen employs 265 people and had 2020 revenues of approximately €46.4 million.

The Wangen business will now be part of the Power and Flow division within Atlas Copco’s Power Technique Business Area.

Since the acquisition of Wangen was announced in February, Atlas Copco has also unveiled plans to buy pump makers Lewa GmbH and Geveke BV and their subsidiaries from Japan’s Nikkiso Co Ltd in a €670 million deal.
