Since the launch of the iconic brand, Kalrez has played a crucial role in delivering exceptional seal performance in the most challenging environments, including electronics, oil and gas, chemical processing, and other industries.
To mark this significant milestone, employees recently gathered for in-person and virtual events, including at the new DuPont Tralee Park Annex facility in Newark, Delaware, USA. Reflecting on the technology's growth and success, leaders expressed gratitude for customers, partners, and team members who have enabled Kalrez products to be a preferred choice for sealing solutions for decades.
“The successful 50-year trajectory of Kalrez reflects our team’s commitment to innovation and excellence,” said Brian Ammons, Global Business General Manager of Industrial Polymers, DuPont Electronics & Industrial. “Kalrez advanced sealing solutions are a trusted symbol of reliability in the most demanding applications and our customers and partners have been pivotal in this success. Looking ahead, we will continue to challenge the limits of performance, delivering even more advanced materials and ad-hoc sealing solutions to solve new challenges.”

Kalrez products are designed to meet rigorous industry standards for quality sealing technology. As new needs have emerged across diverse industries, the Kalrez product family has continually evolved and grown, today offering a range of both standard parts and custom sealing solutions made from more than 30 specialized compounds.
Among the newest Kalrez product offerings are Kalrez Spectrum 7375 parts, thermally stable up to 300°C, with broad chemical and water/steam resistance. Compatible with amines commonly used in the oil and gas industry, and suitable for use in sour service, Kalrez 7375 O-rings and custom solutions are suitable for valves, pumps and compressors.
Low permeation seals from the DuPont Kalrez perfluoroelastomer series, crafted for high-temperature and high-vacuum uses. Operating efficiently up to 300°C, their unique multi-layer seal design enables minimal gas permeation, including oxygen gas.
“DuPont’s leadership in high performance sealing solutions is based on a strong materials science foundation leveraging a global network of research and development centers, technical facilities and technology experts,” said Randal King, vice president of R&D and Technology, DuPont Electronics division. “We continue to explore new compounds and solutions to deliver unparalleled performance and reliability in Kalrez, and to advance our commitment to sustainability.”
