The UK Women's Engineering Society has announced 17 sponsored student places for its 2013 student conference – 12 funded by Jaguar LandRover and 5 funded by EDF Energy. These include full fees and a contribution towards travel, worth £300. Women students on mechanical engineering, manufacturing, design, chemical, computing, electronic engineering or similar courses can apply. Professional engineers from Arup, Baker Hughes, GE, Selex, PG, Morgan Sindall and others will take part in the event, which takes place on November 15-16 at Aston University. Keynote speakers include Professor Dame Julia King and Allan Cook, Chairman of Selex.
