Grundfos names new EVP for business development

A mechanical engineer with a PhD from Virginia Tech and an executive MBA, 49-year old Lutz comes to Grundfos from EIT RawMaterials where he has served as CEO. He previously held a number of executive positions in the Sulzer Group, including chief technology officer (CTO). Prior to Sulzer, Lutz worked for Rio Tinto Alcan, Alcan and Alusuisse.

“Ernst Lutz knows our industry from within, and has a deep experience with innovating new, customer-focused technologies. He is a truly global leader focused on people, technology and making a real difference. I am very happy to have Ernst on the team,” said Grundfos CEO Mads Nipper.

“I am both proud and happy for the opportunity to work with the most innovative pump manufacturer in the world. Grundfos is the strongest brand in the business and I have always found it fascinating how well the company has managed to set standards in the industry. I look forward to being part of taking that to the next level through customer-focused technology and digital innovation,” said Lutz.

Lutz joins Grundfos in September and will be part of the group’s executive team.
