Approximately 125,000 people visited the event, which took place from 7 to 11 May, 2012 in Munich, Germany, compared to 109,589 visitors in 2009. Of the 125,000 visitors, approximately 75,000 were domestic with a good 50,000 from abroad. In addition to Germany, the top ten visitor countries were Austria, Italy, Switzerland, the Russian Federation, the Netherlands, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Poland and Spain. As well as this, there were 2939 exhibitors from 54 countries compared to 2730 in 2010) were presenting on 215,000 m3 (2010:195,000 m3) from May 7 to 11, 2012 in Munich. Some 97% of visitors scored the events programme as “good” to “excellent” and more than 16,000 visitors took part in the 320 lectures and discussions on subjects such as mega cities, water management, phosphorus recycling from sewage sludge, the closed substance cycle and waste management act or waste-to-energy. The next IFAT ENTSORGA will take place from 5–9 May, 2014.
