The order covers the supply of a complete pump unit, a frequency inverter, the necessary transformer and automation equipment and various valves. The order also includes a hydraulic system analysis. KSB supplied the equipment for the first phase of the project in 2006.
The KSB variable speed pump will be driven by a 2228 kW high-voltage KSB motor running at a speed of 950–1450 revolutions per minute. Because of the area’s sandy surroundings and high wind speeds, the electric motor will be supplied with water cooling.
The pumping station's second development phase is expected to be completed for the spring of 2011.
