Sulzer is to cut the size of its executive committee and appoint a new leader for its Pumps Equipment division with effect from 1 January 2019.
The company has appointed Fredéric Lalanne, currently chief commercial and marketing officer (CCMO), as the new president of its Pumps Equipment division.
Michael Streicher, currently president of Sulzer’s Pumps Equipment division, will step down from Sulzer’s executive committee to assume new responsibilities as global head, Water Pumps Business, reporting to Lalanne. The Water Pumps business has sales of approximately CHF450 million.
The functional sales responsibilities will be removed from the CCMO role, which will be renamed head of group business development. This will be a non-executive committee role covering strategy, marketing, digitalization and the newly attached mergers & acquisitions function which previously reported to the Sulzer CEO.
Jonathan Lloyd, currently head of business development for Sulzer’s Rotating Equipment Services, will become head of group business development, reporting to the CEO.
