MDS announces 2013 Roadshow

A series of Motor Driven Systems (MDS) conferences are set to take place over the next few weeks. The regional events are aimed at helping industry professionals generate major savings from motor driven apparatus; pumps, fans and compressors.

Now in its third year, MDS assembles some of the world’s most qualified experts to highlight the importance of adopting a systems approach to motor driven systems for optimum energy efficiency.

Covering key areas of regulation, systems engineering and product technology, MDS focuses on real-life examples of how industry and commerce are delivering huge financial savings through the application of 'energy efficient motor driven systems'. Plant managers, engineering staff and financial heads within end-user organisations find real value in learning how others are developing increased efficiencies across their operations, a theme that will form an important part of the 2013 Roadshow.

Each regional conference includes key representatives from UK Government, end-user organisations, product manufacturers and technical experts, each expressing their views on the impact of electrical motor systems on energy and the environment. This year, in addition to the events’ ‘founding five stakeholders’, they will have the support of the IET, the EEF and ESTA who will be helping to promote each event in the series to their respective memberships.

The MDS 2013 Roadshow will take place in: Scotland, Wednesday 9 October – Broxburn – Hosted by Eriks; the North, Wednesday 23 October – Rotherham – Hosted by Rittal; the Midlands, Tuesday 5 November – Redditch – Hosted by WEG; the South East, Wednesday 20 November – Hatfield – Hosted by Mitsubishi; and the South West, Wednesday 4 December – Bristol – Hosted by ABB.

BOGE Compressors and ITT Gould Pumps have recently joined the list of MDS Event Partners and Mark Whitmore, general manager of BOGE Compressors in the UK commented: "BOGE is delighted to join the line-up of Event Partners at this year’s series of regional MDS events, and represent the interests and values of the compressor market in relation to improved efficiencies from motor driven systems.”

Commenting on the move to a regional approach, Andrew Castle, the series co-ordinator said: "Having staged successful national events in the previous two years, it has become clear that the crucial messages contained with the MDS brand need to be brought to a far wider ‘end-user’audience, and so with the generous support of our ‘host partners’ we aim to deliver another high quality national presentation, but on a regional basis.”
