Prof Dulger developed the first electronic solenoid metering pump, the “ProMinent electronic” in 1968. The pump went on to give its name to the ProMinent group of companies. Today, ProMinent has 2500 employees based at 12 production sites and 55 sales and service organisations worldwide.

Social responsibility was always extremely important to Prof Dulger and his family. For decades the family has supported social establishments and institutions working in technology and science, as well as groups and charitable projects such as the German Centre for Music Therapy Research (known since 1997 as the Viktor Dulger Institute), Heidelberg University, and a number of associations such as the Heidelberger Hauspflegeverein (local home care association) and sports clubs. Every year the Viktor-und-Sigrid-Dulger-Foundation awards prizes for the best dissertation in the field of environmental technology, outstanding work by early career researchers or the best graduates.

Prof Dulger was made an honorary professor of Heidelberg University of Applied Sciences, and was presented with the Richard Benz Medal by the City of Heidelberg for services to the arts and sciences. He also received the Rudolf Diesel Medal for outstanding work in metering technology and water treatment.
