The new company, AESSEAL-Torishima Japan Co Ltd will exclusively supply and service AES products into and in the Japanese market. This new venture, based at Torishima’s headquarters in Osaka, will provide state of the art seals and sealing technology for end users and OEMs throughout Japan.

Peter-Paul van der Meulen (Torishima) and James Hamilton (AES) will serve as co-CEOs of the new venture.

‘We are delighted to enter a partnership with AES here in Japan. Their focus on providing the best technology as well as their company values are in line with what we try to achieve in Torishima. We are sure that this joint venture will be a success in Japan,’ says Kotaro Harada, CEO of Torishima.

Chris Rea, managing director of AES Engineering Ltd, said: “We have an ambition to be the world’s leading reliability business and we cannot do that without a strong presence in Japan, which is the third largest country by GDP. Torishima is a long established and well respected company with a great reputation and heritage, and there is also a business culture fit. Together we will bring a new and disruptive level of customer service on all AESSEAL group selling products to a large underserved market.”
