In preparation for the VDMA’s fourth International Rotating Equipment Conference, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andreas Brümmer from the Technical University of Dortmund and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Paul Uwe Thamsen from the Technical University of Berlin discuss issues facing the industry, including digitisation, which will be the focus of this conference.

The VDMA’s International Rotating Equipment Conference will take place in Wiesbaden on 24 and 25 September and the two scientists are the chairmen of the programme committees for compressor and pump technology at the conference. Full details of the pre-conference discussion can be found here.

Manufacturers and users will have the opportunity to exchange information on the latest technological developments, areas of application and experience. Organisers say that experience has shown the conference is also a platform for a dialogue with science.

Around 750 participants from over 30 countries attended the last VDMA conference in 2016.  The 2019 conference programme includes around 70 lectures and 28 sessions as well as a trade exhibition of around 700 square metres and participation opportunities for sponsors. The final conference programme can be found here
