Wilo doubles production capacity in Dubai

The Wilo Group has officially opened its plant expansion in Dubai, strengthening its position in the region and doubling production capacity in the United Arab Emirates.

Wilo says the enlargement of the production site at its AMEA headquarters (Asia, Middle East, Africa) is a direct result of the company’s successful region-for-region strategy and that it will be in an even better position to meet the growing demand for sustainable products, systems and solutions for water management in the region and beyond.

“This investment reinforces our commitment to meeting customer needs with regionally manufactured products. By acting as a hub for the Middle East and North Africa, the plant in Dubai plays an important role in our long-term growth strategy,” said Oliver Hermes, president & CEO of the Wilo Group. “This is a key step towards fulfilling the specific requirements of our customers in these individual markets and in the Global South even better.”

In addition to the considerable expansion of warehousing capacity, the new infrastructure will allow the production and testing of highly efficient pumps and pump systems which are specifically adapted to the requirements for water management in dry climates.

“Our customers face great challenges associated with the megatrends of our era. In particular, increasing water shortage and climate change call for customised solutions,” said Jens Dallendörfer, Regional CEO of Wilo AMEA.

Wilo opened regional headquarters in Dubai last October from where the company will manage activities in Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

“The opening of our plant expansion closely follows the opening of our regional headquarters in Dubai. Two important steps for Wilo and a clear commitment to the region,” said Hermes. “Wilo has already been present in the United Arab Emirates for a long time. With the recent strategic investment decision, we have underlined our position as an important player in the country’s economy.”
