Xylem is expanding its dewatering pump rental outlets across Europe to cater for a growing demand within the construction, municipal, mining and industrial sectors. Xylem is planning to increase its supply of surface mounted and submersible pumps by opening more rental branches over the coming years. These will include refurbishment of existing premises and new locations and through acquisitions.
According to Xylem, it is experiencing a growing need within the construction industry for expert providers of complete, turnkey dewatering solutions as well as for dewatering pumps to rent.
In a response to these demands, Xylem will unveil a new submersible dewatering pump range at the Bauma International Trade Fair, 15- 21 April, in Munich; comprising four new pumps ranging from 4 to 18 kW. The new range is designed for water removal in tough applications such as mining, tunnelling and other harsh dewatering conditions.
Andrew Jones, head of Xylem’s dewatering business, said, “We have noticed an increased demand within the industry for dewatering services to be supplied as a complete package including pump and water treatment systems, engineering expertise and project management. More limited budgets due to challenging economic conditions, mean that customers do not wish to make significant investments in equipment purchases that may just be required for a one-off project.”
