Workdry International acquires US rental specialist Holland Pump

Workdry International, the parent company of Selwood, Siltbuster, and Vanderkamp, has announced a strategic expansion into the North American market through the acquisition of Florida-based Holland Pump Company.

The acquisition of the water handling and pump rental services provider will give Workdry an established presence in the East and Gulf Coast regions of the US, strengthening the combined group’s offering to the infrastructure, construction, municipal, and manufacturing sectors.

 

Flacks Group moves into mining

Flacks Group has entered the mining industry with the acquisition of Artemyn, a division previously owned by Imerys SA.

Artemyn, with 1000 employees across 24 plants in the Americas, Asia, and Europe, owns the world's largest kaolin operation with unique high-quality reserves in Brazil. Pump maker Pleuger Industries, part of Flacks Group’s diversified portfolio, will collaborate with Artemyn to enhance operational efficiencies and drive R&D in mining products.

 

Tsurumi acquires Italy’s Zenit Group

Japan’s Tsurumi Manufacturing Co Ltd has acquired the entire share capital of Zenit International SpA, the holding company of Italian wastewater treatment plant producer Zenit Group.

Zenit, which is based in San Cesario sul Panaro in the province of Modena, was founded at the end of the 1950s and had a 2023 consolidated turnover of over €40 million.

 

Metso strengthens slurry handling offering with Australian acquisition

Metso is acquiring Jindex Pty Ltd, a privately owned Australian company specializing in valves and process flow control. 

Combining Metso’s experience and offering in slurry handling, hydrocyclones and minerals processing equipment solutions with Jindex’s valve offering will strengthen Metso’s capacity to provide more comprehensive slurry handling solutions for the mining industry. 

Metso’s Pumps business line offers complete solutions for slurry handling and hydrocyclones, including equipment, parts, aftermarket and lifecycle services and digital services. The equipment offering includes slurry pumps, pipes, hoses, valves and hydrocyclones.  

 

Idex Corp to buy Mott Corp in US$1bn deal

Idex Corp entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Mott Corporation and its subsidiaries for cash consideration of US$1 billion.

Mott is a microfiltration business specializing in the design, customization, and manufacturing of sintered porous metal components and engineered solutions used in fluidic applications. Founded in 1959 in Farmington, Connecticut, Mott has approximately 500 employees.

Mott, which is expected to generate approximately US$200 million of revenue in 2024, will join Idex’s Health & Science Technologies segment.

 

Flowserve acquires LNG pumping technology from NexGen Cryo

Flowserve Corporation has acquired the intellectual property and in-process R&D related to cryogenic liquefied natural gas (LNG) submerged pump technology, systems and packaging from NexGen Cryogenic Solutions Inc, a privately held, Arizona-based company specialized in the engineering, design and testing of LNG pumps and turbines.

NexGen Cryo’s pump and cold energy recovery turbine (CERT) technology for the liquefaction, shipping and regasification markets will expand Flowserve’s LNG product portfolio and complement its existing pumps, valves and mechanical seals offering.

 

Harrington Process Solutions acquires Cortrol Process Systems

US distributor Harrington Process Solutions has acquired Cortrol Process Systems, a provider of non-metallic corrosion resistant flow control products, including pumps, for the chemical processing, industrial, municipal water, and other end markets across the Midwest and Gulf Coast.

In addition to distribution, Cortrol offers fabrication services of fiber-reinforced plastic flow-control products and systems.

 

Australian vacuum pump distributor has become part of Atlas Copco Group

AVT Services, a company providing vacuum pump and system sales and service to customers in Australia, has become part of Atlas Copco Group.

The privately owned company is headquartered in Sydney, Australia with additional sites in Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane, and has 15 employees.

 

Vestum buys UK wastewater pumping station specialist

Swedish industrial group Vestum AB has acquired all shares in PDAS Holdings Ltd through its subsidiary Pump Supplies Ltd.

Founded in 2014, PDAS provides proactive maintenance and intelligent monitoring of wastewater pumping stations. The company specializes in the design, supply, installation, refurbishment and maintenance of adoptable pumping stations, packaged pumping stations and storm attenuation systems for residential and commercial developments across the UK. A significant part of the offer consists of intelligent monitoring systems through remote telemetry and cloud-based technology for service and maintenance of pumping stations that allow pump specialists to monitor customers' pump systems in real-time with the aim of streamlining maintenance works. PDAS has 63 employees and is headquartered in Surrey.

 

Flowserve to acquire US valve maker Mogas Industries

Flowserve Corp has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Mogas Industries, a privately held, Houston-based provider of mission-critical severe service valves and associated aftermarket services for US$290 million with an additional earnout of up to US$15 million.

When the deal closes, Mogas will be integrated into Flowserve’s Flow Control Division (FCD) segment, adding a strong brand, heritage, and technical expertise in diverse and attractive end markets.

 

Atlas Copco Group acquires South African specialty dewatering solutions company

Atlas Copco Group has completed the acquisition of Integrated Pump Rental (IPR), a specialty rental provider of dewatering solutions in South Africa.

Headquartered in Johannesburg, IPR provides fully outsourced dewatering solutions through the rental of pump and ancillary equipment. The company has 18 employees and had 2023 revenues of €5 million.

The IPR business is now part of Atlas Copco’s Specialty Rental division within its Power Technique Business Area.

 

Grundfos expands in water treatment with Culligan C&I acquisition

Grundfos has bought the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) business of Culligan in Italy, France, and the UK. 

The acquisition expands Grundfos’s position within the European water treatment market, bringing a complementary portfolio of solutions and technologies for industrial and commercial needs. The acquired business had a turnover of more than €100 million in 2023 and has around 400 employees.

This transaction follows a series of recent acquisitions made by Grundfos within water treatment, including Eurowater in 2020, MECO in 2021, and Water Works in 2022. 

The deal does not include Culligan’s home, office, and on-the-go commercial businesses in Italy, France, and the UK. It also excludes the largely commercial and light industrial operations in the Middle East, Spain, and North America.

 

DXP Enterprises adds to water platform

DXP Enterprises Inc acquired Hartwell Environmental Corp, a Texas-headquartered manufacturer’s representative of pumps, controls and process equipment for water and wastewater industry. 

Founded in 1976, Hartwell is headquartered in Tomball, Texas with three locations servicing the Texas, Oklahoma and surrounding markets.

 

Verder buys condensate removal pump specialist Sauermann

Verder Group has strengthened its position in the global pump and equipment industry with the acquisition of Sauermann, a supplier in the HVAC-R market.

Sauermann’s expertise in HVAC-R technologies, particularly in condensate removal pumps and air quality measurement and control instruments, complements Verder’s extensive range of solutions.

 

FLSmidth to acquire German sensor technology company Tipco Tudeshki

FLSmidth is strengthening its digital pumps, cyclones and valves offering with the acquisition of German sensor technology company Tipco Tudeshki Industrial Process Control GmbH.

Aachen-based Tipco’s sensor technology can measure the particle size distribution of different mass flows, which offers strong applications across FLSmidth’s Mining portfolio.

FLSmidth will initially apply the technology to its hydrocyclones portfolio. The combination of FLSmidth’s KREBS hydrocyclones, offering high-efficiency and cost-effective classification solutions, with Tipco’s sensor technology will further strengthen FLSmidth’s pumps, cyclones and valves (PCV) solutions to mining customers.

 

Ingersoll Rand acquires India’s UT Pumps

Ingersoll Rand Inc has acquired UT Pumps & Systems Private Limited, an Indian manufacturer of screw pumps and triplex plunger pumps.

The bolt-on acquisition adds new pump technology to Ingersoll Rand’s product portfolio.

UT Pumps’ high-pressure pumps are mainly focused on attractive end markets including water, wastewater, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, general industrial, and chemicals.
