Cavendish Engineers joined forces with ReThink Energy and Italian manufacturers Climaveneta to showcase new heat pump technology at a facilities industry conference last week.
Run and hosted by Cavara Training at the Institute of Directors, the conference highlighted continental Europe’s engineering and building industry, and how new air source heat pump and water heat pump systems, prevalent throughout Italy, could be replicated across the UK – making key energy savings.
With the EU’s Renewable Energy Directive recently stipulating energy saving targets of 15% by 2020, the conference answered questions around the future of engineering design, both at home and abroad.
Heat pumps in Europe
ReThink Energy’s Giuseppe Medeghini, who highlighted the use of new heat pump technology in Europe, commented: “Air source heat pumps are more suited to the UK market due to the less extreme weather, but yet it is a market that lacks knowledge in this area.”
The conference was chaired by Ashley Bateson, Chair of the ACE (Association of Consulting Engineers) Sustainability and Soft Landings Steering Group.
Cavara will be providing another free conference in the autumn.
