The company’s vacuum business has been growing since the acquisition of Edwards Group in January 2014. A number of acquisitions in the vacuum area have been completed or are currently underway, including Leybold and CSK.
The new Vacuum Technique business area had restated revenues of SEK10.5 billion for the 12 months ended 30 June 2016. The operations of certain businesses acquired after 30 June 2016, with combined annual revenues of approximately SEK4 billion, will also be included in the new business area.
“Our ambition is to become the global leader in vacuum solutions,” said Ronnie Leten, president and CEO of the Atlas Copco Group. “The global vacuum business is a growth area and by creating a separate business area with a dedicated organisation the already strong customer focus will increase further.”
From 1 January 2017, Atlas Copco will have five business areas: Compressor Technique; Vacuum Technique; Industrial Technique; Mining and Rock Excavation Technique; and Construction Technique. Compressor Technique’s Vacuum Solutions division will also move to Vacuum Technique.
